Men at Work

I won’t be posting much this week. I’m in FL at my brother’s to do some work. He owns a network/telecom cabling business in Tampa and every 4-5 weeks I’ll spend a week working with him. The money is good and we always have a good time, so don’t mind the labor. I like to think about it as strength work…mostly upper body, but the legs get worked climbing up and down ladders all day. Today we were at the St Pete Times Forum where the Tampa Bay Lighting & Storm play. The Lighting were practicing in the AM and the Ottawa Senators who played Tampa last night were still in town and were practicing in the afternoon. I’d duck my head in and watch whenever I had a free moment. As I wondered around the innards of the Forum, I couldn’t help thinking “I sure wish cycling had this sort of investment.” The place is it’s own little economy with all of the supporting roles that go along with it. Road racing is certainly growing in this country, but even it has a long way to go to match up to hockey.

Tomorrow is a night ride with the SWAMP Club and then nothing until Friday before I fly back to ATL. If I have some time I’m sure I’ll find something to post about….maybe my first impressions of the new Kona Hei Hei which I am riding this week.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
