Recovery Week
Finally! Over the previous 3 weeks I managed to put in over 60 hours of riding, 9 hours of tempo, built and rode the heck out of the JackHammer, completed 25 bike fittings, announced the Fools Gold Mtb Races & Festival, built Namrita’s Blueberry Pie, met with the SBA twice, cleaned the garage, and watch at least 10 episodes of South Park. I needed this week. So what did I do for my recovery? Spent 12 hours each of the last 2 days at a Macy’s in Morrow, GA pulling in new cash register cables for one of my brother’s jobs. Not exactly on top of my list of ways to recover, but it will generate some good cash for the up coming race season. My brother asked me to be a corporate officer in his cabling business, this is not exactly the type of executive privileges I was expecting.

Life is a balancing act. Now that I am self employed, I have the freedom to train and go to races whenever I wish…we’ll that’s the dream anyway. The reality is that now that I am self employed I do not make money unless I’m working. Since the racing gig is not really paying much, I have to compensate with some hard labor. Luckily, the 55nine Performance gig has really taken off, so I don’t have to spend my days in a corporate cube or in the dusty ceiling of a department store. Maybe it’s not so much luck, but still I’m glad it’s working out. The demand for the 55nine Performance fittings reached an all time high last week with 12 fittings and the word continues to spread.
I need a bit more rest this week, but only until Saturday and then it’s on! The exclusive invite only Goat Ride ride should have me begging for a sweet Ashvillian Recovery Drink:
