Preparing for Conyers
Saturday is the Granny Gear 24 Hours of Conyers, so I’m preparing bikes and gear. I’ll going to throw both Konas on the trainer and check the fits then pick up some extra parts tomorrow. Richard, the worlds best bottle-hander-outter, arrives around 4 PM. He’s in for the weekend to help me out, which works great because Namrita need to get some quality training in for the BURN 24 Hour next weekend. I’m pretty excited about this race, I’m feeling good and I think my fitness is really coming on strong right now. It’s so hard to tell during a rest week like this, but the last few weekends I seem to be getting stronger and stronger….that’s the direction I like to be going at this point. I’m still thinking about strategy for this one and I’m settling on aggressive. Ernie knows this course by now, but Josh does not and that could play into the early part of the race. The weather looks a little too nice…high of 77 and low of 48 & sunny….to really play into my favor so, I’ll just have to ride my way to the podium. Mentally I need to put all of the past races away and start fresh. I’ve had some good ones, but I want to go into this one without any preconceived limits on what I can do.
