It almost hit 100* this weekend. Saturday was ridiculous. Nam & I rode at Ft Yargo until she was ready to puke and my head was going to explode. I wanted to do some sustained race efforts, but every time my heart rate crept up there I’d just over heat. We bailed after 4.5 hours when the plan was to ride 6. Sunday was a little better. We rode some really flat twisty stuff to simulate the nationals course or part of it at least. There were so many turns that I never get a chance to really get my HR up, but the repeated efforts out of each turn are good. Hopefully all of this work on carrying momentum through the turns and accelerating out of them will pay off in a few weeks.
This is week is more hours of flatness and lots of work on the Fools Gold event. Sign up today, it’s going to rock!
Here is good article by Namrita for the Twin Six site: “So, you want to give endurance racing a shot….”
