Help the BMCC

Well the Fool’s Gold is just about finished up. I have a press release or two to finish, a post race email to send and some paperwork to mail off to the NFS. I’ve been pretty wiped out the last two weeks, but things are returning to normal…..well the German Bier-Fest last weekend with BURN Energy Drinks owner, Tyler, probably added a day or two on the recovery process too. BTW - BURN has a new sugar free 16 oz’er that has 203 mg of caffeine…it packs a serious kick. > Dear BMCC

Normal is back just in time too. Namrita and I are heading to the 13 Hours of Santos this weekend in FL. I won the inaugural event back in 03, but haven’t been back since. I really like the trails down there…tight, twisty, fast…and not too much climbing. That should help get some speed back in my legs since I’ve haven’t been doing much fast or high end work since Nationals. Anyway, racing in FL always feels like I’m going back ‘home’ because I started racing down there and I know just about everyone.

About that title….the Brushy Mountain Cycling Club built and maintains the Dark Mountain trails were the BURN 24 Hour is held and is alway working hard make improvements. See the message below and take minute if you can to help them secure a grant which will go directly to trail work at the Kerr Scott park were both Dark Mountain and the Over Mountain Victory trails are located:

The Brushy Mountain Cyclists Club has applied for a “My Hometown Helper” grant from the folks who make Hamburger Helper. We’re seeking $3,000 toward the purchase of a mini-bulldozer that will really speed up the trail building process at Kerr Scott and elsewhere in the area.

You can help! Here’s how:
1. Go to http://www.myhometownhelper.com/ViewProject.aspx?tell=2&id=29233

2. Scroll down the page and add your comments in support of the project.

3. Check that you accept the terms and conditions, and “add your comment”

It’s easy! More comments will increase our chances of winning this grant. This grant would be used as part of the club’s match to a grant we’ve already won from the Wilkesboro Tourism Development Authority.

Feel free to copy this message and e-mail it to your friends who enjoy the trails.
