Team Inferno Camp

Just a quick update from team camp down in Macon. I’m down here helping out Tom Coleman of Wobble-Naught fit 16 guys on the Inferno Racing Team. It’s day 3 and all the fits are done and most of the guys have had their pedal stroke analyzed with Dartfish. Even the pros are learning something. For the new guys it’s a lot to take in just a few days…new teammates, new management, new bikes and new pedaling mechanics. For the guys that have been with the team for a while it’s a bit easier, but even they are finding ways to improve. That’s what this is all about, finding ways to improve. Doing the same things over and over again will only yield the same results.

The fitting assembly line.

Later today we will be following the team a recording various points in the ride to analyze with Dartfish later. I purchased a camcorder yesterday, so I’ll be collecting some footage to work with once I get Dartfish loaded up. We’ll be looking at how these guys ride and ways we can help them improve their mechanics, but the capabilities of Dartfish does not end there. We could record sprint drills, paceline rotations, echelons…and it goes on. Then we could all review the techniques and tactics to gain the knowledge of a better way to execute in a race.

I’ve learned a lot in the last week and I’m really excited to put that knowledge to use, but first I think I’ll go practice some pedaling myself.
