55nine Performance Training Camp

With Namrita on spring break from school this week will be dedicated to riding….lots of riding. We started the week off right with a 5 hours ride in the Gaps of North GA. We hit Neils, Jacks & Unicoi before heading down into White County for some rolling hills. It’s beautiful up there and the weather was great. We did have some steady winds, but that just adds to the effort right? After the ride we retired to this place for the night. I cooked dinner and Nam tired the dogs out, then we relaxed on the couch with a couple of books. Later we watched a movie and then were in bed by 10:00. That house is such a relaxing space.

Sunday we took the Vassagos over to the Chattahoochee National Forest for another epic. We planned for another 5 hours, but ended up with 6 after a few wrong turns. Can you take a wrong turn if you don’t really care how you get there? Anyway, we covered some of the Fool’s Gold route and then added in some other stuff to the north and west. We finished with the climb up Noontootla Creek Rd, a 7 mile grinder, then descended Winding Stair. The Vassago just ate up that descent. It’s so stable and the big wheels eat up the stutter bumps from the water run off. You still have to go easy in the blind turns because of traffic, but on the straights I’m sure I hit 40 mph or so. I even chanced a few sideways glances to the amazing views which are only available with the leaves down. Great stuff! After we hit the Mexican joint in Dahlonega, stocked up on food at Wally world, then headed back here for another night of relaxation and solid sleep.

Today we are heading to Fort Yargo for 4 hours of laps and maybe even a night lap with the new Light & Motion Stellas. I’m excited to try these new lights out and I’ll report on them later.

That’s all for now, gotta go pack up the bikes again. ….pictures to come later.
