Cold
I’m over it already. I know those living to the north of here have it worse and will readily let me know about it, but I chose to live in the south for a reason. It’s supposed to be warm(ish) all year around. I can live with a few days of cold and even a snow flurry once a year. What’s killing me is this week long deep freeze we are having. It’s in the 30s again today, which means I’ll be inside for the second day. I tried sucking it up, wearing every article of clothing I own (and even some of Namrita’s) and going for it, but the results were not very positive. The only time I’m remotely comfortable is when I’m nearly anaerobic, which doesn’t make for a very long ride. I actually rode in ski pants over the weekend! Really I’m just sick of it and I’m moving to Ecuador…..oh wait it’s 60 again, nevermind.

My favorite is when people in California complain about how much they spend on cycling clothing. I know I’m not alone in owning three different sets of different-weight tights; ditto base-layers; more long-sleeved jerseys than you can count; and four different cycling jackets. 30s? C’mon, bring the pain!
