Riding Up High
Looks like the upload from the iphone to wordpress is not working so well. We’ll have a ton of photos when get back home, but we didn’t bring a laptop with us. Yesterday we rode with this guy west of Boulder in Nederland. The trail was some where around 8400-8600 ft, so it was comparable to the highest points we will be riding in Gunni this weekend. I felt good, though the feeling of breathlessness come quickly and any work near LT felt harder than it should. The good news is that I could sustain the efforts just like home once I got past the feeling that was pushing too hard. I’ll definitely need an HRM for the Growler becuase my perception of effort is off here. The terrain is loose and sort of like riding on marbles at times and other times it’s big chunky rocks. Namrita seemed to doing well with the altitude and terrain as well. The best news is that her knee seems to be on the mend as well. No issues at all.
Today we are meeting up with a former 404′er, Blain, to ride in Golden. I put a call in to Nat Ross, former endurance stud, for the 411 on the trails. Looks like a quick stop at the Wheat Ridge Cyclery and then off to the Apex trails.
