A New Kind of Evil

Being back in GA means we are back at the gym working with our strength coach, Devin Vernick. Last Friday we did some testing to see how we are progressing, This consisted of:

Speed Squats w/87 lbs in 30 seconds (why 87? That what the kettle balls weigh): 26
Clap push ups in 20 seconds: 15
Pull Ups in 20 seconds: 4
Plank: 6 minutes
Iso squat: 11.5 minutes

I’m pretty weak in the pull ups, but I was not consistent with them while we were traveling last month. I’m pretty happy with the rest of it.

So on Tuesday we had a new routine to try. First I was supposed to warm up with the jump rope. This was embarrassing. The gym was packed and I looked like an idiot with no coordination. We did some more plyometric stuff, this time with some weight added. 3 sets of 10 clap push ups was close to dangerous. I was close to falling flat on my face in the last set. Then we got to the Renegade Rows. These are evil:

We’d do a set of 10 followed by the plank and repeat. Evil pure evil. What doesn’t kill you…..
